Wednesday 28/12 –

Walk cancelled due to treacherous underfoot conditions and predicted rain/snow.

Wednesday 21/12 –

Due the icy underfoot conditions on arrival at Quarrymill, Scone, the planned walks up Kinnoull Hill were abandoned. The long walk was changed to a lower level walk along the foot of the hill, across the foot bridge to Moncreiffe Island and on to the South Inch for lunch, before returning via Perth city centre to Quarrymill. The short walk was changed to a walk round Scone and Murrayshall.

Wednesday 14/12 –

Walks cancelled due to treacherous driving and walking conditions.

Wednesday 07/12 –

This week we have the Christmas Lunch, which is preceded by an OPTIONAL walk around Arbroath, which concludes at Arbroath Golf Club (Elliot).

The walk will include St Vigeans, Hercules Den, Western Cemetery, Bankhead and Peasiehill, returning to the Arbroath Golf Club.

Those of you who are doing the 6.5 mile relatively level walk need to be at Arbroath Bus Station for 10.15 commencement. The 73 and X7 arrive at 10.05 and 09,51 respectively. The 39 service is not suitable on the incoming service. Those of you returning from the Golf Club by bus need to catch the 73 and 39 service at about 39 minutes past each hour. The X7 returns at 08 minutes past each hour.

Those of you driving have two options. If you intend to do the walk, then please leave at the first exit at the Elliot roundabout and park where you can catch the bus at 09.55 to the Bus Station. Those of you only going to the meal, please leave the roundabout at the third exit and park in the Golf Club Car Park. The Elliot Roundabout is the first roundabout on exiting the dual carriageway on the A92.

Wednesday 14/09 –

The plan was to try a longer trek for the first time since lockdown using a local service. However, due to a glitch with the local bus, plans for 2 ability walks had to be abandoned. Instead, on a lovely autumn day, we all walked via The Rob Roy Trail from Acharn, Kenmore back to Aberfeldy. Fair to say that not having the the coach to take us part-way up the hill, requiring us to start at loch level at Acharn made it quite a long trek - and of course we're all 2 years older since lockdown. However, despite a couple of hiccups along the way, I think we all enjoyed the day, as the pictures put on the website from the day should show. As a mark of respect following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II the previous week, at a picturesque vantage point along the route, we paused for a minute's silence.

Wednesday 07/09 –

Due to torrential rain on Tuesday 06/09, the walks planned for the Wednesday were cancelled. Instead, the members enjoyed a local walk from Riverside, Dundee through Invergowrie, Kingoodie, Denhead of Gray and Liff and return.
